The John Lewis Pop-Up Costume Exhibition runs until 23 October, offering visitors the chance to celebrate the life and career of The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll ahead of the Edinburgh Playhouse season.
Visitors can explore designs that pay tribute to Tina Turner’s greatest hits and milestones, including the dazzling gold fringe ‘Proud Mary’ dress and the striking red gown worn during The Best (Simply). Alongside the costumes, photography showcases how these looks appeared both on stage and on the legendary artist herself.
The musical will run at the Edinburgh Playhouse from Tuesday 11 until Saturday 22 November as part of a UK and Ireland tour.
Speaking about the tour, producer Tali Pelman shares
“Tina Turner played to packed out arenas across the UK and Ireland throughout her extensive career. We’re thrilled to now be able to bring her extraordinary story to stages across the UK and Ireland for the first time with TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL, celebrating the life and times of a truly inspirational woman whose story continues to move and elate audiences around the world every night.”

With choreography by Anthony van Laast, set and costume designs by Mark Thompson, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg, projection design by Jeff Sugg, orchestrations by Ethan Popp, and wigs, hair and makeup design by Campbell Young Associates, the production is brought to life by producers Stage Entertainment, Joop van den Ende, and Tali Pelman, in association with Tina Turner herself.
The musical is dedicated to the memory of Tina Turner, who sadly passed away in May 2023, ensuring her legacy continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
