My 12 year old nephew Oscar made his Edinburgh Fringe debut this weekend, visiting for the first time. Here Oscar gives his unfiltered opinion on Doktor Kaboom's new show.

Doktor Kaboom: Man of Science! review

★★★★★

Not boring!

Doktor Kaboom! blends comedy with scientific exploration and lessons in personal empowerment to deliver a one-of-a-kind show for audiences of all ages.

Oscar's review: A 12 year old's through's on Doktor Kaboom at Edinburgh Fringe

First Impressions: I didn't know what to expect. He is a German but has good English. He is funny, loud, entertaining.

Best bit: His explanations of electricity! When he talked about electrons he wasn't boring and it was very funny.

I would recommend for ages 4 - 13. It's not boring.

Star rating: 5 stars definitely! ★★★★★

A note from Oscar's mum:

I was a bit worried that Oscar would be at the upper age limit for this show but I needn't have worried. Doktor Kaboom has a great manner, not patronising to the older kids at all.

The whole audience was enthralled from tiny toddlers to oldies like me because science is for EVERYONE. Yah! (in a German accent.)

There were great jokes, plenty of entertaining experiments. Plenty of wooshes, bangs and even kabooms!

We could have done with his pickle lightbulbs later in the afternoon when Edinburgh was plunged into blackout and our next show was unfortunately cancelled!

It's well worth taking the whole family to see Doktor Kaboom as long as you don't mind leaving the show smelling of chips.

Great fun. Oscar and I both loved it.
